Central Liquor
Tucked away on 178 Orange Ave in sunny Coronado, Central Liquor isn't just your average corner store – it’s a low-key local gem with a surprisingly crave-worthy food menu. Whether you're strolling down the avenue with your pup or bringing the kids along, this spot keeps the vibe relaxed and welcoming.
What really sets Central Liquor apart? It’s their unexpected lineup of hearty eats. Locals swear by the Italian Sub – packed with layers of meats and just the right touch of spice. Craving something a little more zesty? The Spicy Chicken Chipotle delivers that bold kick with a smoky edge that keeps you coming back. Then there's the Roast Beef – a solid pick for anyone into classic, satisfying sandwiches. And if you're in the mood for something different, the Torta brings a flavorful twist that’s worth exploring.
This isn’t your fancy sit-down kind of place. It’s more like your neighborhood go-to where you can pop in for a quick bite, grab a cold drink, and chat it up with the friendly staff. Dog-friendly? Absolutely. Kid-friendly? For sure. It’s the kind of place where locals feel at home and visitors feel like they’ve found something special off the beaten path.

Sandwiches was great I went sailing took a lunch and I had a Italian sub and turkey sub on the boat with me they was the best loves every bite and prices are very good as well
Best sandwiches in the island. This place has everything: classic convenience store, fantastic deli (with a wide range of options), almost any beer-wine-spirit you could want, and great customer service. This is a place that I frequent when in the area.
Sandwiches were delicious. The service was super quick. The bread was soft, along with the flavor being on point. Will be back.
great sandwiches, friendly staff - perfect for the beach, concert in the park, lunch for your movers, etc
I almost didn't want to write this review just to keep this place my little secret--but for the sake of the business, I'll share! This is hands-down the best hidden spot on the island. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. We stopped by in the morning to explore picnic lunch options for the park, and even though we weren't buying anything yet, the owner was so kind and patient, walking us through the menu. After checking out other places, we returned a few hours later to order. On the owner's recommendation, we went with #14 and #25--the Reuben sandwiches--and they were phenomenal! Perfectly stacked with plenty of meat, just the right amount of bread, and a spot-on balance of sauce. This place is now a must-visit staple for us. Don't miss it!
